FAQs Via Lingua Sardinia (Alghero)

When is the next session?

Sardinia (Italy) Course Dates:
May 2 - 27, 2011
June 20 - July 15, 2011
July 18 - August 12, 2011
Sept 12 - Oct 7, 2011

How much does the course cost?

1.650 EURO, including accommodation.

What kinds of accommodation do you offer?

There are two kinds: a shared double room in a flat shared with other course participants and family homestay. Family homestay is usually chosen by students who would like to practice Italian at home, but unfortunately is not always available.

Student apartments are usually no more 20 minutes’ walking distance from the school.

What are visa requirements?

If you are a national of the EU, US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, you do not need any specialist visa for entry into Italy or to do a TEFL course with Via Lingua. You simply enter the country as a tourist. If you are a national of any other country, please contact us if you are unsure as to whether you require a visa.

How do I enrol?

Go to the Via Lingua online enrollment form. The 270 EURO deposit may be paid by credit card to the Via Lingua International’s paypal account.
The deposit is necessary to reserve your place in the course.
Upon enrollment, you will receive letter of acceptance, as well as details regarding payment of balance due.

Will I be able to get a job after the course?

The answer is of course, “Yes!” But this also depends on YOUR willingness to put the contents of the course into practice! One of the many things we will do during the course is discuss CV writing techniques, interviewing, legal aspects of hiring, and what to look for in a good job offer. You will also be assisted by our job center coordinator in finding promising leads. Via Lingua Alghero maintains a working relationship with over 50 language schools in continental Italy and will be a huge help in placing you.

What is the schedule going to be like?

Your schedule may vary slightly from week to week, but typically you’ll be starting every morning at 9.00 a.m., stopping for a one-hour lunch break, and carrying on until 4:30 p.m. There will be evenings in which you’ll be doing observed teaching lessons until 8:00 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. We do keep Friday evenings and the weekends completely free so that you’ll have the opportunity to take advantage of what Alghero has to offer.
